The Lubricant Specialists community was founded in 2009 with a simple idea: the industry becomes stronger when technical, commercial and operational professionals can learn from one another.
As of April 2026, the LinkedIn group connects more than 36,500 professionals across the lubricants value chain—including formulators, base oil specialists, additive suppliers, blenders, traders, marketers, OEM stakeholders, procurement leaders and senior management.

The platform is founded and operated by Bhupinder Singh from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. His industry career is separate from the editorial capacity in which this website speaks.

Bhupinder Singh is a Dubai-based global executive in lubricants, base oils, additives, commodity pricing and market intelligence, with more than 30 years of industry experience across the Middle East, Africa, CIS, Asia and international markets.
He is Director — Global Lubricants & Base Oil Business at bluechemGROUP, Germany, and the founder of The Lubricant Specialists. Since 2009, the community has grown to more than 36,500 professionals across 100+ countries. He also publishes the LS Boardroom Weekly Intelligence briefing, followed by more than 5,300 subscribers.
His career spans commercial and leadership assignments with Castrol/BP, Pidilite, Universal Lubricants/ZINOL, BAPCO, Venol/Vanol, Duckhams and bluechemGROUP. His work combines pricing governance, product and portfolio strategy, distributor ecosystems, licensing, toll blending, working-capital discipline, cross-border business development and base-oil and additive sourcing.
